Vintage Kohl Pot Grab Bag - one silver tone and one brass

Brass kohl containers also referred to as Surmadani containers. Surma = Kajal in Indian. The “Kohl” is ground Galena, a natural lead sulfate mineral, mined as early as 3000BC. Worn to protect one from the sun when used around the eyes, cutting back the glare. You can never get enough lead! Also used in Arabic cultures. Add a chain to complete a necklace.
