Antique Pelican Bone Beads
Antique pelican bone beads were excavated from the archaeological site Chan Chan west of Trujillo in Peru. The beads are most likely from the 15th century.
Sally found a wonderful artisan on her trip to Peru last year. She picked up this very unique strand of pelican bone beads with hand carved spiny oyster beads.
Pelican bone beads are 1 to 2mm thick and 3 to 4mm wide. The pendant is 16 x 2mm and the spiny oyster beads throughout the strand range from 6 x 4mm to 8 x 3.5mm. Strand is 17" in length.
